Colombia has 9.2 million acres land
across its
national
parks. The System of Natural National parks, today conformed to a
total of 46 areas: 33 Natural National Parks, 9 Sanctuaries of
Fauna and Flora, 2 Natural Reserves, 1 unique area and 1 Via Park.
Today, the System of Natural
National Parks of Colombia, has 24 areas with Eco-tourist use, of
which 16 have services of lodging and 11 services of camping. Its
installed capacity is of 1,457 people - night: (547 (people)
bed-night and 910 (people) zone of camping); Which has been
defined agreed with the specifications of handling plans, whose
objective is to provide excellent services of lodging and camping,
and complementary services such as restaurants interpretation
centers, footpaths etc. Fulfilling quality standards.
For the System of Natural National Parks of Colombia the
Ecotourism is a basic tool to fortify the System, generating
financial resources through the concessions, the sale of services
and tariffs, allowing its redistribution in areas of the system.
Also,
it involves the communities of the zones in the planning and
development of eco-tourist activities, assuring his participation
in the generated benefits. Educative and recreational activities
in general are offered to the public to increase the level of
conscience in the cultural and natural patrimony of the country,
obtaining Social Benefits, obtaining the awareness of the visitors
with respect to the preservation and conservation of the natural
resources. By the same way an Economic Benefit that crystallizes
in the resources generated by income of services.
Considering that the Natural National Parks are immersed in a
varied product market, it has a very particular supply, a
specialized demand and a great percentage to capture. It is a
tourism made by people with restlessness with respect to the
environment and that as well generates futures visitors, whose
results help to that the environmental education and the
conservation become a continuous activity that promotes the wealth
of the country.
