Social Media Online Content 2009
Social Media 2009 Online Content - Marketers are directing their 2009 budgets toward content, custom media and social media initiatives, according to research from web content and social media firm Junta42 and market research firm King Fish Media.

68% of survey respondents said they will invest in social media initiatives (non-blogs) in 2009. 60% cited e-newsletters / e-mail marketing, 56% blogs, 51% online video and 43% cited microsites.

The survey results point to a significant trend: Marketers are moving budgets from traditional advertising to custom media and social media, the firms say.

“These findings are an acceleration of what we’ve been seeing for the past few years,” says Joe Pulizzi, founder of Junta42. “More and more marketing professionals now realize that tomorrow’s marketing is all about developing a conversation with customers. Without valuable, relevant and compelling content, that’s pretty much impossible.”

Junta42 surveyed 196 marketers and online content publishers in various industries in early December.
