Salvadorian Singer Natalia Segura Performing at
"The Trendsetters Awards"
By: Luis Vazquez - Natalia Segura, the Salvadorian singer who was born in Australia will be performing some of the songs from her forthcoming debut album at the 2009 DTM Magazine’s Trendsetters Awards at the United Nations this Monday, November 16, 2009. Tabbed by Univision as an emerging artist in 2007, Natalia has been weighing her options since she moved to New York City this year. After spending a number of years as lead singer to many bands, she is considered one of Australia’s top Latina talents. She has performed at Sydney’s Latino music festival, which is the largest Latino festival on the continent.
Now at 24, this singer and actress, who appeared in a Tic-Tac commercial in Australia, has arrived permanently on our shores to fulfill her long expected promise.
The event, which is the hallmark of Defining Trends Magazine, will be held on November 16, 2009, at the
United Nations Headquarters, between 42nd and 48th Streets & First Avenue, in New York City.
This event will be hosted by April Hernandez-Castillo(Freedom Writers) and Veronica Contreras(Sports Reporter Telemundo 47), along with award recepients Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., Latin music legend Willie Colon, and author/activist/baseball wife Laura Posada who will be honored at the 8th Annual Latino Trendsetter Awards gala.
Other prominent Latinos who will be honored on this historic night include Jose Pinero, Director of Communications for TV, Video, and Business at Microsoft; NY1’s Maritza Puello; Lourdes Lopez, Director of Marketing at AXA Equitable; Professor Jenny Rivera of CUNY Law College; Richard Gonzales, the New York District Manager of Capital One Bank; Lutzi Vieluf, owner of Cibao Meat Products; pediatrician Dr. Emilio Villegas; Inca Cola’s Randall Berman & Elizabeth Chalas Berman; and attorney Miguel Pozo of Lowenstein Sandler.
