Morelia's International Music Festival - From November 13th through the 28th, the striking city of Morelia will showcase one of Mexico's most important artistic events, the XXI Annual International Music Festival of Morelia Miguel Bernal Jimenez.
As featured, year after year, Morelia honors a distinguished country and its music, this year the honors will be paid to the United Kingdom. Music aficionados will experience and enjoy the presence hundreds of international artists, an array of concerts, seminars, classes and courses both for students and music professionals.
Among featured sounds will be Mexico's very own National Symphonic Orchestra and Michoacán's Symphonic Orchestra. This year, more than fifty thousand people are expected to be in attendance.
Located in the northern region of Michoacán, Morelia's Historic Center, declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO, boasts colonial-style constructions, such as the Palacio Nacional and La Catedral (The Cathedral). Due to its strategic location, many tourists visit Morelia before heading out to nature reserves, such as the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve (State of Mexico and Michoacán), named a UNESCO site in 2008 as well.
