Dominican Republic Travel  THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACH IN THE WORLD

By Profesor Martin N. Danenberg “El Quijote del GED”

My first visit to an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana led to five more visits in a little more than two years, three of which were in Punta Cana. The other two were in the Puerta Plata area, but in the towns of Cofresí and Sosúa. In December, I ran into two entire days of rain in Cofresí. Otherwise there was always sunshine and great weather during my six weeks in the Dominican Republic in February, June, November, and December.Beaches Punta Cana Dominican Republic

Punta Cana is considered to have the most beautiful beach in the world. My fiancée and I have walked two hours on the beach and passed most of the hotels on the beach. The best beach in terms of the clarity of the water was between the new Bahía Principe and the Super Club Breezes. The water is beautiful there and has less seaweed. There is a natural coral reef near the Barceló hotels which provides calm waters. We found the roughest waters by the Paradisus and the bay is gorgeous there.

I met Miss Universe, Amelia Vega, and singer-actor Pablo Montero in the incredible seafood restaurant Captain Cook’s in the town of El Cortecito. Try the huge seafood platter, which comes with great fried potatoes, salad, sangria and other drinks. You cannot go wrong eating chicharrones de pollo or just order a la carte.

The beach by the Iberostar and Riú may be the nicest stretch of beach, but the area by the AMHSA Grand Paradise Bavaro is the most peaceful. The latter is the least trafficked area of all.

There is plenty of food, all day long and some hotels, like the Super Club Breezes, have a grill where you can find something you enjoy a lot. I loved the chicken.

I really enjoyed walking to the beach, refilling my Cuba libres during the day with Bareló rum, and spending time chatting with the Dominican people. In many of the hotels you meet many Canadians, English, French, Italians, Belgians, and Portuguese. I even found that in the Meliá Hotel there were many people from Latin America. The nightly entertainment, which is more or less the same, in the hotels is designed to attract a wide audience and the presentation is multilingual. You will find the same team on the beach during the day, working hard and bringing large numbers of people into the daily activities. The animation team and guests begin to feel like family for the week. These people love their work, because it gives them an opportunity to practice their profession.

If golf is your passion, take your clubs or just rent and enjoy the beautiful views along the Punta Cana Golf Club and some of the best golf in the world. And please take a guided tour of the countryside. This is a beautiful country.
