The Sales Pitch
You must craft
your sales pitch, if you don't craft it somebody else will.
How you package and deliver your message could mean the
difference between making the sale or not making the sale.
Remember, some people are better than others at articulating
their message.
Most entrepreneurs + business professionals credit their
communication skills for much of their success, and each is
fired up by the passion product or service and company.
Passion separates you from the rest. Without passion, you will
not motivate your buyers or audiences.
Do you have a tremendous love for what you do? Do you have a
passion for your work? How and what you say impacts how people
will believe your story line or business idea. If you love
what you do, others will notice and hopefully that fire
spreads across your office or work place.
Cold Calling
Sales Tip
Think about your
cold-call "target". Every big wig has an assistant to stop you
from getting through, so place your call when the screeners
are out. Just after daybreak or after dinnertime are ideal
because any exec worth his six-figure salary will be on the
job, but the help won't be. The timing can impress your
prospect, demonstrating long work hours in order to get
results.
The Cold Calling
Numbers Game
Do you play
sports? How often do you score? Baseball batters only have
.310 batting averages.
In sales, cold
calls usually end in a "no," no matter how skilled you are at
making them. You must remember that in sales you are also
playing a numbers game with no's and yes's. You will always
have a "no" rejection rate and must not get discouraged.
Understand your
numbers game. 1,000 calls, gets you 700 live people on the
phone. Those calls lead to 300 physical appointments, from
which you close 45 sales.
