About Getting a GED Diploma
THE EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVE THAT HAS BEEN MISSING FROM YOUR COMMUNITY.
The graduation rate from your schools may be declining and declining more than you can tolerate. At the same time you have to see if the number of GED diplomas is rising in your
community. If negative things are happening in both areas, your community is at risk for problems and it is less competitive.
Take into account too that there are wide variations in communities and states in the delivery of GED’s. Some states are well below the national average, others hover around the national average, and some are well above the national average.
There are communities, too, where things have been terrible for decades. Those communities need much more help and fast.
Here is the plan of action that is needed. Your office can lead, instead of do nothing. Bring in ten institutions from your community and they can participate in the GED initiative jointly. There is a cost, but it will be under $30 a person to obtain this help (slightly more if the GED book is given free to people in need). GED classes cost taxpayers thousands of dollars per student. So there will be great savings to the community. This is a win-win situation for all. All ten institutions can share the costs and participate together, using their staff, donating their facilities, searching for grants and funding, and keeping the project moving forward without any interruption. Funds can be secured from sources such as WALMART, the Rotary Club, United Way, etc.
A GREAT NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN YOUR COMMUNITY CAN EARN A GED WITHOUT EVEN TAKING A CLASS AND WITHOUT EVEN STUDYING A LOT.
Please present this information to the administrators responsible for Youth, Gang Enforcement, Workforce, Domestic Violence, Social Services, Recreational programs, Libraries, Public Housing, Minority Affairs, and others. Probably you will be ready to begin this project in weeks. I am ready to help now. People in your community can take the Official Practice Test which is the best way to mobilize your community.
