Pay on Congested Roads says Tom Suozzi

SUOZZI SAYS PAY ON CONGESTED ROADS - I am not running for governor, but I say we should not pay on congested roads. Critical thinking is needed and the people in charge should try my plan to see if it will work.

“You would, for example, along the Long Island Expressway, monitor the traffic at certain times of the day and try and charge people who are trying to use during high traffic times,” Nassau County Executive and gubernatorial candidate Tom Suozzi said according to a New York Newsday reporter.

I have been thinking for some time that the Department of Highways could use the signs to communicate with us to allow single driver vehicles to enter the HOV lane during peak times when the flow of that lane is good to excellent. This could be done to advance traffic and hopefully it will not create any bottlenecks at key intersecting highways. I feel the government has to try this before making up pay to increase the flow of traffic. We paid dearly for the construction of the HOV lanes and we should not be charged twice. It seems simple enough to me. A communication from the highway people that says single use vehicles may enter the HOV between 4:00 PM and 4:45 with messages going to police vehicles during that time period, may be just what we need instead of making people pay. Gee! Police ticketing illegal users of the HOV cause enough bottlenecks. Instead of making us pay by Eazy-Pass let us just pass easily into the HOV lanes.

Take a look at my GED articles and other articles too!
