I think Danny Glover and the elected officials should take a long hard look at themselves. Hillary Clinton put helping about 4 million young adults at the top of her educational platform and that plan has lost its flame. What does Danny Glover want? We hear that the biggest thing elected officials want is to make a lot of money because of their influence and contacts. See what is going on among African-Americans.

In the interview Monday, the president acknowledged the difficulties: "We were some of the folks who were most affected by predatory lending," he said, using the plural pronoun to refer to black Americans. "There's a long history of us being the last hired and the first fired. As I said on health care, we're the ones who are in the worst position to absorb companies deciding to drop their health care plans. So, should people be satisfied? Absolutely not. But let's take a look at what I've done."

Obama added that he cannot pass laws "that say I'm just helping black folks. I'm the president of the entire United States. What I can do is make sure that I am passing laws that help all people, particularly those who are most vulnerable and most in need. That, in turn, is going to help lift up the African-American community."

This information appeared in an article by David Sessions on the internet in Politics Daily. As you can see in his article, Danny Glover and the CBC or Congressional Black Caucus are "grumbling" over the fact that President Obama has not done enough for African-Americans. I recall Democratic elected officials wearing those Obama buttons and we know that many or most of them have aided their entire district most of the time at the expense of their Black constituents. Sure they hand out funds all the time to organizations that aid mostly African-Americans. So tell me why has the progress been so slow and what are Danny Glover and the CBC asking for? Who are the Black people that they want to help? I know who I want to help and I would finally like to hear if we have common ground. Why have I not made any progress with all of the African-American officials that I have met. Ask them if they know my principal ideas sufficiently well. Do they know that I am partnering, for example, with the Sean Bell Foundation to bring "Justice, Jobs, and Education" to people and tell me why have we not gotten the help we need to help people?

On another front, President Obama has made great strides toward achieving health reform. The senate voted in favor of its bill. Unfortunately not one Republican voted for it. Not one Democrat voted against it. I sit back and say this is not what we told back in the campaign. Where is the magic we anticipated in getting Republican support for legislation? Where is the bringing of people together in the United States? Democrat strength is evident at this moment, but everything can be undone in two years as the swing back to the Republican party takes place and this swing has been evident in many elections this year.

I can tell you this. Secretary of Education has been going around with Reverend Al Sharpton. If they have not done anything that is helping the African-American community right now, that is a lost opportunity. If the election of Barack Obama is not cutting down on the dropout rate, that is another problem to deal with, especially after President Obama told our nation that dropping out of school is no longer an option and he gave parents some helpful suggestions. Did Danny Glover hear it? What have Danny Glover and the CBC done to propel this important issue to the forefront? What have they done to cut down on the 1.2 million youth who drop out of school? What have they done to help 40 million adults who need a diploma in the United States? Danny, look at the universal message of The Color of Purple. Look at what was done to people and what still is being done to people.

Danny, education is the key in this world and too many African-African Americans are not competing. The numbers who finish college are not nearly enough. There are solutions. Let us work on them together and now.
