PAY PAL NOTICE
Something new in 2010. You can now order the GED program. It is so simple! Click on the word clic above my article (in the white section on the right). By clicking you can go to my website and find "Services" to order the GED program in English or Spanish. See the Pay Pal there. Thank you for taking this important, powerful step in your life. I really hope that a job or higher education awaits you, even induction into the military. Your future is important!

The GED is in the race for mayor of New York City. Perhaps this important issue will never be ignored by any political candidate in the future. New York City has 1.6 million adults without a diploma and an average of around 12,000 diplomas each year from that number. The GED programs account for about half of that number and the number of diplomas is less than when I retired in 2000.
I told an audience outside City Hall that the people behind me demonstrating against the elimination of term limits by holding signs that say "Eight is Enough" and for me four years was enough (with Mayor Michael Bloomberg). Four years too many! I met Michael Bloomberg in his first campaign office and then presented information about the GED to his staff. This information was not presented to the public and it was never used properly or used at all under mayoral control.

The Department of Youth and Community Development had a report made (completed Spring of 2008) and the public has not heard about it . By the way, almost a billion dollars is spent annually on workforce development and you can see that the GED output is barely affected by that money and all of the other money spent on GED. Why hasn't the mayor taken action in over a year?
I told the audience that around 3 million adults in New York City are affected by the GED. Those 1.6 million adults have loved ones (girlfriends, spouses, parents, and other relatives) that want their child to earn a diploma and have the wonderful graduation filled with joy that millions of people have had. I asked those people to make a difference (vote for someone who will do something about the GED).
The GED, I said, is of critical importance for young people in Rikers' Correctional Facility, where my great friend Alphonso Bonilla has his Christian Ministry each week. He tells me that those youth are not getting any help. He wants to do a concert with Radio Vision Cristiana and he has told Mayor Bloomberg about it, but again there does not seem to be any interest on the part of the mayor. The GED is also of critical importance to parental involvement in the schools and to depressed areas around the city such as Far Rockaway, East New York, and much of the Bronx. You tell me which other areas need aggressive help!
I RECOMMENDED A CAMPAIGN TO TELL ELIGIBLE YOUTH UNDER 19 YEARS OF AGE (17-18) THAT IF THEY HAVE BEEN DISCHARGED FROM SCHOOL FOR ONE YEAR THEY CAN TAKE THE GED WITHOUT GOING TO CLASS AND EARN THEIR DIPLOMA BEFORE THE PEOPLE IN CLASS. I RECOMMENDED A GED TASK FORCE TO WILLIAM THOMPSON.
