HOFSTRA PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE 2008 NO GED IN SIGHT

By Profesor Martin Danenberg “El Quijote del GED”

You will not hear the GED mentioned at all during this Presidential Debate between Barack Obama and John McCain. Discussion of the GED must wait until after the election and the setting up of the new administration. I am confident that you will hear much more about the GED, Dropout Prevention, and English language acquisition in 2009. The next Secretary of Education will be much better informed about these subjects than any past Secretary of Education. The potential for more jobs is right there.

I recognize that the economy is the big issue now. Even the War in Iraq is not such a big issue now. Immigration has fallen behind now Americans are wondering what is going on now. I guess what we need is an open discussion of everything, but the time is limited. The biggest question of all is do these candidates have the answers to resolve the problems that we face today. Why have they not come forth in the past with convincing proof that they have these answers? McCain has been around for a long time, Obama for only a short time, but we have not seen those answers from them in the past and we are asked to believe in them now. Are we going to be fooled by the debate? There have been so many promises of jobs since the Great Depression that were never fulfilled. The Brooklyn Navy Yard was closed in New York City and people all over America know that campaign promises hold the same guarantees that people got from mortgage lenders that resulted in foreclosed homes. America may be getting a big foreclosure notice that there may only be a small number of jobs compared to the large number promised. By the way, I know how to create GED related jobs, dropout prevention jobs, and English language acquisition jobs in communities all over the United States and Puerto Rico.

FROM NEW YORK TO FLORIDA FROM CALIFORNIA TO KANSAS FROM LOUISIANA TO MICHIGAN FROM WASHINGTON STATE TO COLORADO, WE MUST WAKE UP AND SUCCEED IN OUR OWN COMMUNITIES AND WE CAN DO IT WITH OR WITHOUT WASHINGTON, D.C. THE BAILOUT HAS TAKEN PLACE AND NOW WE MUST FOCUS ON THE EDUCATION OF THE PEOPLE, ALL AMERICAN PEOPLE.
