My GED Hotline GED Practice Test

A large segment of the Hispanic community wants Lou Dobbs to be taken off the air and it has a "Dump Dobbs" campaign. Lou Dobbs revealed days ago on his show that his wife is Hispanic and his children are half Hispanic. The Hispanic community remains divided. There are Puerto Ricans and other Hispanics who do not support the legalization of immigrants (undocumented or illegal). There are other non-Hispanic s who were immigrants and do not support the legalization of immigrants. That is why I have been telling Hispanic leaders (if you can call them leaders) that we must find other convincing arguments to persuade Americans to support legalization of immigrants. Janet Murguia avoided an important question about NCLR's urging immigrants to avoid being home when immigration officials seek them out for questioning, but Lou Dobbs made it clear that his opinion is more important than the law and government policies. See the interview on You Tube (Lou Dobbs and La Raza). Even in discussing the use of warrants to enter a home, Lou Dobbs seemed to imply that this was within the law and it is not . Lou Dobbs seemed to fall apart as a television host. He began to talk about the fifty percent dropout rate among Hispanics, almost suggesting that this is what NCLR should be focusing on instead of representing the "civil rights" by being an "ethnocentric" organization. He sat there and did little to give supporting details for his position. Janet Murguia looked impressive, on the other hand, but I am not impressed by the record of organizations as far as the education of immigrants is concerned. Hispanics are moving into North Dakota and where are the Hispanic organizations demanding the Spanish GED test for those citizens, residents, and others. Hispanics are doing to their own people what English only advocates are doing (is that Lou Dobbs?).

I instantly realized two things. That a high percentage of the dropout rate is due to Mexicans, a large number of whom are students returning to their country (temporarily) or moving around from place to place in the United States. So the picture for most Hispanics is really not that bad when taking this fact into account. The other fact is that Lou Dobbs and NCLR have to do much more to help even the US citizen or legal resident who has not graduated from high school. Lou Dobbs is famous for defending and fighting for the middle class. I would love to see Lou Dobbs and Janet Murgia do community service teaching GED my way or teaching students about dropout prevention my way. I suggest 6 months of service for each (totaling 26 hours each). They can also partner with me in other ways to make America better. The Dobbs children may be half Hispanic but they do hide behind the Dobbs name. We hope that the Dobbs grandchildren do not drop out of school like millions of Hispanics and if they ever do drop out , they should mobilize themselves immediately to take the GED and get help from America's GED Hotline. Don't you agree Lou and Janet?
Americans (including many talk show hosts) keep referring to polls taken about the legalization of immigrants and they are told that the Congressional representatives should follow what their constituents are telling them. This message conflicts with the whole idea of leadership. It is time for conservative talk show hosts to tell the people the entire truth on the air. Yes Mexicans, Irish, Israelis, Ethiopians, and others who let their visa expire or cross our borders without permission can be deported, but they have many of the rights we all have while being here (there were even Jews here during the Holocaust who were not legal, I have read). When people are employed they must be paid minimum wage, victims of workplace accidents are entitled to workman's compensation, and people can do the GED in most states and even go to college in New York and other states. Lou Dobbs must show this kind of integrity in each broadcast of the Lou Dobbs Show. Janet Murgia and others can do more to educate people in the same way, instead of talking in general terms.
On his October 7 CNN show, Dobbs characterized as “shocking” and “extraordinary” Rep. Barney Frank’s (D-MA) observation as “the grandchild of four parents who were lucky to get out of Russia” that under a more restrictive immigration policy “my whole family obviously would have been wiped out in the Holocaust.”
Now that you have read this exchange, too, it is important for all Jews in the United States to know that we lost family members because of restrictive policies. Perhaps Rep. Barney Frank did not do the best job of presenting the facts, but Lou Dobbs must know by now that two-thirds of Americans were against allowing the Jews to come into the United States in 1940 and that the Jews escaping the Holocaust on the St. Louis were not allowed into the United States. Never again! Lou Dobbs could have clarified those remarks, just as I have here.

LOU DOBBS DOES NOT KNOW HOW IMPORTANT THE HISPANIC COMMUNITY IS AND HE SAID THAT. I LISTEN TO THE LOU DOBBS SHOW AND I AM GLAD HE LIKES THOSE BISCUITS FROM A POPULAR RESTAURANT THAT I GO TO, BUT JANET MURGIA AND THE REST OF THE HISPANIC COMMUNITY MUST ALLOW FREE SPEECH AND MOBILIZE THEIR OWN ELECTED OFFICIALS AND OTHER ELECTED OFFICIALS AROUND THE COUNTRY TO TALK ABOUT THE RIGHTS OF THE UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANT. I HAVE READ COMMENTS ABOUT HOW DOBBS HAS BEEN SPREADING MISINFORMATION ON HIS SHOW FOR A LONG TIME, HARMFUL INFORMATION ABOUT THE LATINO COMMUNITY. WHAT ABOUT CALLING FOR A DEBATE BETWEEN LOU DOBBS AND SOMEONE ON THE OTHER SIDE IN A BIG STADIUM A LA BOBBY RIGGS AND BILLIE JEAN KING. PRESENT THE FACTS SO TENS OF MILLIONS CAN SEE AND HEAR AND LET DOBBS GO DOWN THE WAY BOBBY RIGGS DID. THIS SHOULD BE THE MAIN EVENT. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT EVEN DON IMUS MADE A COMEBACK AFTER HIS REMARKS ABOUT AFRICAN AMERICANS. THIS MAY BE THE WAY TO IMMIGRATION REFORM. EXPOSE DOBBS' UNTRUTHS AND GET A MAJORITY OF AMERICANS TO BACK IMMIGRATION REFORM. IT WORKED FOR WOMEN'S TENNIS, DIDN'T IT?
