MIKE TYSON and the GED
By Profesor Martin Danenberg “El Quijote del GED”
Former champ Mike Tyson was back in the news today in Phoenix. He was arrested for possession of a white substance, and he admitted his addiction, even though he has been preaching against drug use in the jails.
When Tyson was in jail many years ago, I made an outreach to him to help him pass the GED, but my effort was stopped by someone, maybe his GED teacher. I wonder if Tyson has passed the GED since then. Back here in Central Islip, New York, Leonard Fillyaw is planning to open a boxing gym, and a key component of that recreational program will be GED for the youth who have dropped out of school. We can do the same thing in every community where a recreational program exists for basketball and other activities.
LET US AGGRESSIVELY HELP THE YOUTH BEFORE THEY GET INTO A LIFE OF TROUBLE.
