Artists such as Sean Paul, Cuban Reggaeton-dancehall sensation Mey Vidal, Miami Rapper Pitbull, Ying Yang Twins, Yerba Buena, Lil’ Jon, Frankie J, Akon, JD Natasha, and many others will be cruising the streets as they enjoy a piece of paradise, prior to attending the MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday, August 28th.

Special events, from after parties to live performances are scheduled throughout every night.

One of the many special events planned for the weekend is The Pure Records VMA Label Launch Party at Amika Nightclub on South Beach, Saturday August 27th.. The party will be hosted by Grammy winning Reggae/Pop superstar Shaggy, actress Jill Marie Jones and actor/producer Bryce Wilson. Doors for this event opens at 10pm with red carpet and celebrity appearances taking place from 11-12pm. Invited celebrities from the music, sports and entertainment industries include super producers Cool and Dre, Reggaeton-dancehall artist Mey Vidal, Rapper Fat Joe, Kevin Carter of the Dolphins, boxer Shannon Briggs, model Tyson Beckford , and singer Mario Winans. Block party events just waiting to take place are The 11th Street Block Party: Fri., Aug. 26, from 8-2 a.m. Street closures will force traffic to be rerouted from NE 11th Street to NE 2nd Avenue to North Miami Avenue, and the VMA Block Party After Party: also on Fri., Aug. 26 at Teasers Nighclub (524 Ocean Drive) from midnight-closing. This official MTV after-party will feature the music of DJ Rob Dinero, DJ Irie and Cipha Sounds.
