Que dice Tego Calderon sobre la Musica Reggaeton. "Reggaetón is a reflection of the hip-hop movement in the United States, but with key differences".

"Latinos are a large minority in the United States, and almost everyone knows the English language," he said. "But in reggaetón, we mostly sing in Spanish, and it is appealing to the Latinos who do not speak English to identify with us. Here in Puerto Rico, they understand us much more"
He said young fans enjoy Latin hip-hop artists such as Akwid, Mexiclan, Kid Frost, SPM, Mellow Man Ace and Pit Bull, but they rap or sing mostly in English. Before reggaetón, there wasn't much Spanish-language rap. Now Puerto Rican fans prefer it.
"In reggaetón, we also have more Dominican and Puerto Rican salsa rhythms, like the bomba and the plena," he said. "And we have different vocals. We sing with accents. In my case, I incorporate a lot of Cuban music and the music from my home, Puerto Rico."
