Over 2,200 food and beverage retailers, restaurateurs, distributors and importers, as well as trade press and local media turned out for the first-ever San Antonio edition of Expo Comida Latina on April 24-25.

Held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, the show featured more than 200 exhibitors covering over 23,000 net square feet. Countries represented included Mexico, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica and Nicaragua. In addition to the exhibits there were several culinary demonstrations hosted by Chef Lala, conference sessions covering ethnic retail and foodservice topics, and a special Fiesta Palooza reception hosting exhibitors and key buyers.

The show was so successful for exhibitors that half immediately signed up for the 2006 event to be held in Houston, April 23-24 at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Said Brian Randall, vice president and show director, “Our strategy is to alternate the event between venues in Texas and we are excited to be headed to Houston in 2006.” For more information on the San Antonio show visit www.expo-comida-latina.com.
