US Hispanic Marketing

The Mayor’s Hispanic Heritage Committee was established seventeen years ago in honor of Tampa’s Hispanic employees, the Hispanic community and their numerous contributions to Tampa and its citizens. Their fundraising efforts provide money for scholarship endowments at the University of South Florida and Hillsborough Community College as well as programs to mentor at-risk Hispanic youths from local elementary, middle and high schools.

Latin Fest 2005 is the culmination of the year’s fundraising efforts. Latin Fest, a picnic in the park, features traditional Latin lunch of your choice including Picadillo (Ground Meat Creole) served with yellow rice, Cuban bread and a mini-guava pastry or a Cuban sandwich served with a bag of plantain chips and a mini-guava pastry. The lunch will be catered by local Ybor City Restaurant - LATAM at the Centro Restaurant and Bar. Tickets are $7.00 for a hot meal or $5.00 for a sandwich.

Tampa City Council members and other local celebrities will be serving as our Celebrity Servers, including an appearance by Mayor Pam Iorio. The celebration will also feature entertainment and prize drawings throughout the event.

Our 2004 event had an estimated attendance of over 800 (from the amount of meals sold).
The Downtown Lunch Hour will garner all professionals from the area including several City Departments, since the event is run by City Employees and is City Sponsored. Most meal tickets are pre-sold – last year’s pre-sold number was approximately 400 tickets prior to the event. All proceeds from the event go towards our Latino Scholarship endowments.

Donate Prize Giveaways - We also are accepting any items with your company name or logo to give away at the event in which you will be announced. Your company name will also be featured on the handouts at the event.
