Hispanic Professional Network, Inc. (HPN) has joined forces with Riverfront Recapture to present Fiesta del Rio 2006, sponsored by Sprint/Nextel, on July 1 starting at 4:00 p.m. at Charter Oak Landing in Hartford, CT.

Fiesta del Rio honors Independence Day with a Latino flavor and includes live Latin music, food and fun for the whole family.

Making Fiesta del Rio more exciting is that this year, the event is being produced in collaboration with the annual Riverfest celebration presented by Mohegan Sun Casino. A party like no other, Riverfront Recapture marks its 25th anniversary this year. This will be a celebration of America's independence on the Connecticut River with Latino music & food, cultural activities and the best fireworks ever.

Fiesta del Rio begins at 4:00 p.m., and is a free public event. The festival closes with a fireworks show courtesy of Konover Properties.

Musical sensations include;

Mikata, Guakibom Jazz, 2ble Bombazo, Esteban Arrufatt Quintet, Ray González y su Orquesta, Sabor a Timba, Latin Beat Orquestra, Battle Ground Records (Los Marvols con El Kasique) and the main event, LOS HERMANOS MORENO.

The music is made possible thanks to a grant from the Evelyn Preston Memorial Fund with additonal support from the Roberts Foundation and Gutierrez & Associates Insurance.

The Spanish American Merchants Association member restaurants will have vendor booths available with a variety of Latino cuisine representing the various Hispanic cultures.

"We are proud to collaborate with Riverfront Recapture and present a Latino perspective to the annual Riverfest celebrations," said Gil Martinez, HPN President and CEO. "The organization, and our sponsoring companies, clearly recognizes that the Latino culture is an important part of the fabric of Hartford and Connecticut."

Other sponsors include Gutierrez & Associates, Univision, La Mega 910 AM, Mason y Bauzá Hispanic Marketing Communications and Luna Productions.
